Over his almost 50 year real estate career he has acquired experience in many real estate areas: appraisal, land development, construction, renovation, commercial rental, residential rental, building inspection and real estate sales at a very high level. It is estimated Rick has inspected more than 7,000 buildings! It is this type of guidance that has helped clients side-step leaky condos and instead find safer havens.
A long time ago a friend of Rick’s told him about purchasing a house and finding many major problems after he moved in. He was told ‘caveat emptor’ (buyer beware). Knowing Rick’s background, the friend vowed never to buy again without asking Rick to look at the property first. That’s when Rick decided to create Sherlock Home Inspection Service, Vancouver Island’s first full time building inspection service to help buyers, sellers, Realtors®, lenders and lawyers understand what they were really dealing with.
